Another option is to ask for a live video call through a platform like Facebook. A real person who is interested in getting to know you will usually be willing to briefly appear on camera. Scammers often avoid live video because they are using stolen photos.
The safest mindset when meeting people online is to stay cautious. Take your time, verify who you are speaking with, and never send money or personal information to someone you have not confirmed is real. Being careful can help protect you from common online scams.
